My overall research agenda is focused on the exploration of the varieties of state-market interactions, political actors driving the process as well as the winners and losers emerging from this changing economic and political landscape. My research bears directly on how we view the link between democracy and market capitalism, populism, state capitalism as well as rising illiberalism in recent political transitions. My work lies at the nexus of political economy, institutional analysis and economic development using a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods to explore the questions at the center of my work.
